Our Doubleview project is a great example of what can be made possible using a small space.

We excavated a large volume of soil from the existing space before building a new retaining wall - carving out an extra 10m² of garden! As the new wall had a rendered finish we also rendered the lower half of the house to help this new element settle in. We painted the wall and the new render with a lime paint and picked a colour to tone in well with the existing brickwork. We introduced some crisp new paving - just enough to make it feel generous - and then packed the edges with plants. We planted two small trees to grow into an archway joining the two spaces and provide informal separation. An old plant pot was converted into a simple water feature. A custom built steel pergola frames a very tranquil spot to enjoy a long lunch with friends.
